Two explosions in Nigeria's troubled northeastern city of Maiduguri on Tuesday killed 11 people, including five policemen who were believed to have been targeted, police said.
Borno state police spokesman Gideon Jibrin told AFP that one vehicle exploded at 7:50 am (0650 GMT), killing three civilians, and that a bomb hurled at a police vehicle 10 minutes later killed five officers.
It was not immediately clear if the three others killed in the second attack were Boko Haram insurgents, he added.
