Pakistani MPs and lawyers have condemned the United States for 'violating' Pakistan's sovereignty by carrying out a military operation to kill al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Reports say dozens of Pakistani lawyers staged a protest rally against the US move on Wednesday in the city of Abbottabad where US forces claim to have killed bin Laden.

Addressing the protestors, the leading lawyers said that they condemn terrorism but cannot accept any violation of their sovereignty.

Meanwhile, Pakistani lawmakers have criticized the US for the raid and held the government, the army and the intelligence agencies accountable for the US operation in Pakistan.

During a parliamentary session on Wednesday, the lawmakers also slammed US drone attacks in the country, adding that the US military has violated Pakistan's territorial integrity by launching an attack well inside the country to kill bin Laden.
