Israel plans to invest billions of dollars in developing its interception systems.
Israel plans to invest one billion dollars in the development and production of batteries for its Iron Dome rocket interception system, Zionist Defense Ministry director-general Udi Shani told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Monday.
Shani stressed that “Israel should invest heavily in the system,” clarifying that this budget is accompanied with “the 205 million dollars that the US government has authorized”.
In addition to the Iron Dome system, Haaretz reported that “Israel plans to invest another $1 billion in the continued development of Magic Wand, a medium-level missile interception system”.
This weaponry is used against rockets fired from the besieged Gaza strip to the occupied palestinian territory.
