In Aleppo, army units advanced in al-Sheikh S'eed and al-Ameriyeh neighborhoods in the city, killing scores of terrorists and destroying their weapons and ammunition. A military source said that an army unit foiled terrorists' attempt to infiltrate into Abdulhamid al-Zahrawi school in Old Aleppo, killing and injuring all its members.
The source added that other army units killed and injured a number of terrorists in the neighborhoods of al-Lairamoun, al-Jbeileh, al-Sheikh S'eed and al-Ameriyeh, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
The national military also eliminated scores of terrorists in the villages and towns of Khan al-Assal, al-Tamoura, al-Atareb, Tal Ref'at, Manbej, Khan Touman, al-Mislmiyeh, Industrial City, Hreitan, al-Shweihneh, Kfar Hamra, al-Ramouseh and in the are surrounding the Central Prison, destroying their weapons and ammunition.
The source pointed out that the Syrian Arab Army destroyed a number of terrorists' cars along with the weapons and ammunition inside them in al-Shaar and al-Sukkari neighborhoods in the city and in the villages and towns of al-Atareib, Kwaires, al-Jadida, Rasm al-Aboud and Khan al-Assal.
In Deir Ezzor, SANA quoted a military source as saying that an army unit targeted armed terrorist groups in al-Mrei’yeh village and its farms in the countryside of the province.
Several of the groups’ members were also killed and others were wounded, in addition to the destruction of their vehicles that were equipped with heavy machine guns.
In Daraa, SANA reported that the Syrian army units targeted terrorists' dens and gatherings in al-Nazehin camo and al-Bajabjeh district in Daraa al-Balad, killing and injuring many of them, in addition to destroying their equipment.
The source added that another army unit foiled terrorists' attempt to infiltrate towards Bilal al-Habashi Mosque in al-Mandhiyeh neighborhood, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
Other army units stormed terrorists' gatherings in Da'el, Smalin, al-Msayfra, al-Kasara, Om al-Awsaj and al-Zababer villages in the countryside, killing and injuring many terrorists, in addition to destroying a number of their cars equipped with heavy machineguns.
Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the Syrian government accuses foreign actors, mainly the Saudi Arabia and Turkey, of orchestrating the conflict by supporting the militant opposition groups with arms and money.
Today hundreds of armed groups, including terrorist takfiri brigades affiliated with Al-Qaeda, are battling both the national army and each other, complicating any efforts to reach a political settlement.
