“The session will be open-ended until there is quorum,” Berri said after he adjourned a session on Wednesday aimed at discussing a plea made by Suleiman to resolve the presidential deadlock.

“I will call for a parliamentary session on the first day of vacuum if there is a vacancy in the president’s post,” Berri added.

“There is no need to specify certain dates for sessions because I am ready to invite (MPs) whenever I see that there would be quorum,” he said.

Concerning participation in Thursday’s session, As-Safir newspaper quoted March 8 sources as stressing that there’d be no participation for the forces in today's session “because the name of the next president is not yet mature, and that March 14 coalition should know that no matter how frequent election sessions are in these circumstances, there will not be a President under the current balances.”

The Free Patriotic Movement sources said the party is mulling to boycott cabinet sessions after Sleiman’s term ends to object the failure to carry out timely presidential polls.
