Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil stressed that Lebanon is the spear head in the fight against terrorism, which has been hitting the region.

“Lebanon, with its message, is a spear head in the fight against terrorism,” he said during the Non-Aligned Conference held in Algeria.

 “Lebanon is countering terrorism on your behalf,” Bassil addressed the non-aligned countries as saying.

"If Lebanon falls in front of terrorism, the concept of not taking side with injustice will also fall, and if Lebanon succeeds, the concept of taking side with peace and justice will prevail,” the Lebanese FM added.

Bassil also called on the international community to stop the Israeli violations against Lebanon, as he urged cooperation between the UNIFIL and the Lebanese army in a bid to “counter terrorism which has been threatening all our countries.”
