Syria Military Operations against Terrorists Continue, Latakia’s Kassab Restored

Syrian army regained control on Sunday over of Kassab city in Latakia province western Syria on the border with Turkey, after violent clashes with armed groups that left dozens of them killed.

Syrian military sources confirmed to Al-Manar TV that Syrian army took control at the beginning of the town of Samra and advanced towards Kassab in northern countryside of Latakia before taking over the city.

"Syrian army then dismantled mines and improvised explosives planted by the armed groups in Kassab," the sources said.

They also confirmed that Syrian army and the national defense forces raised the Syrian flag atop Kassab's municipality building, while army units were detecting the border crossing with Turkey to clear the area of foreign-backed terrorists.

In Aleppo, units of the army and the armed forces destroyed an ammunition depot in Kafr Hamra, in Aleppo countryside and eliminated a number of terrorists inside it.

A number of terrorists' gatherings were also targeted as their cars with all weapons and terrorists inside were destroyed in several areas of Aleppo countryside.

The source added army units targeted terrorists' gatherings in several areas in Homs countryside, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their weaponry.

In Daraa, a military source told SANA that army units eliminated a number of terrorists and injured others in Saida town, surrounding the National Hospital in Tafas in Daraa countryside and destroyed their weaponry.

A number of terrorists' vehicles, some equipped with heavy machineguns, were destroyed in Daraa and surroundings as a number of terrorists were killed and wounded.

A military source told SANA that the army units destroyed terrorists' den in Kafer Battikh in Idlib countryside eliminating a number of so-called al-Jabha al-Islamiah (Islamic Front) who were holed up inside the den.  A number of vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns were also destroyed.

In Deir Ezzor, units of the army eliminated scores of terrorists from so-called Al-Nusra front and injured others most of them are non-Syrians in al-Hueika neighborhood.

A source in the province told SANA reporter that army units targeted terrorist gatherings and dens in Deir Ezzor city and destroyed a number of their vehicles.
