Ousted Egyptian President Hosni Moubarak will apologize on his and his family’s behalf to the people in attempt to secure amnesty.
Ousted Egyptian President Hosni Moubarak will apologize on his and his family’s behalf to the Egyptian people for implementing offensive acts against them.
A report published by Al Shorouk newspaper revealed that Moubarak has drafted a letter that will be broadcasted on Egyptian and Arab channels, adding that “the letter includes an apology for any act that may have stemmed from false information passed on to him by his advisers”.
The paper further stated that the president will reveal his readiness to hand over his assets to the state, in a desperate attempt to get the Egyptian Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to look into an amnesty.
Mouabarak and his family are under arrest for abusing their positions to acquire wealth illegally. However, Suzanne Moubarak (former President’s wife) handed over Monday $3 million to the state claiming this is her entire fortune.
