The Zionist deputy defense minister Dany Danon considered that Netanyahu's political future ended after he lost the war in Gaza.
Danon addressed Netanyahu, "You will certainly lose any upcoming elections."
The Israeli paper, Yediot Ahronot, reported a major split among the figures of the Likud party after Netanyahu sacked Danon.
The paper noted that Netanyahu suggested that Aryeh Deri, the leader of the Shas party, replace Danon and that Deri has not yet settled the issue.
