Iraq's new Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri is due to visit Iran on Tuesday to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Union troika meeting to discuss the Palestinian issue.
"Tehran will host the Inter-Parliamentary Union troika meeting on Tuesday," Iranian Parliament Speaker's Adviser for International Affairs Hossein Sheikholeslam told FNA on Thursday.
"New Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jabouri will also visit Tehran to participate in the conference," he added.
Sheikholeslam said that Iran, Sudan and Mali are the members of the troika meeting, and added that Pakistan, Syria, Palestine and Iraq will also participate in the talks.
Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in phone talks with his Algerian, Syrian, UAE and Pakistani counterparts voiced concern about the slaughtering of the Palestinian people by Israel, and asked them to think of ways to stop this crime.
He also reminded of the responsibility of the Muslim leaders vis-a-vis the brutalities of the criminal Israeli regime and preventing the massacre of the Gaza people, and asked for the integrated position of the Islamic parliaments against the Zionist entity.
Larijani said that the terrorist and Takfiri groups' moves in Iraq and Syria have created a proper opportunity for the Zionist regime to intensify suppression and violence against the oppressed Palestinian people.
Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 10 consecutive days, killing at least 260 people and injuring more than 1,670 others.
According to the UN, 77% of the victims in Gaza are civilian and defenseless people.
