The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned on Monday the planned attacks launched against the Lebanese Army by members of the terrorist groups of “the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham” and “al-Nusra Front” in Arsal, a town near the Syrian border.

The ministry confirmed they would stand by the Lebanese army during the battles, which have been ongoing for the last three days.

The official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said Syria was confident in the triumph of brotherly Lebanon in this battle and the defeat against the plot to destabilize the security and stability of Lebanon.
 
The source pointed out that Syria was repeatedly warned that terrorism backed from abroad knows no boundaries and has no identity and will extend to surrounding areas, if their resources are not drained. The source suggested that obliging states known for supporting these terrorist groups, must have their funding, arming, training, and shelter ceased.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry stressed that opposing terrorism faced by Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon is a defense for the security and stability of the region.
