Palestinian foreign minister Riyad Maliki said that the UN Security Council failed to protect the Gazans from the Zionist aggression, letting the Israeli army continue their offensive against Gaza and prompting the Palestinian government to file a request to join the International Criminal Court.
Maliki added that his government exert efforts to join the International Criminal Court, what will allow it to participate in investigating the Zionist aggression on Gaza as well as other events.
In a different context, Maliki said that Egypt is pursuing its initiative to reach a ceasefire and to lift the blockade imposed on the Strip since 2006.
