More than 150 thousand tweets were sent out on Twitter Sunday night with the hashtag #ßáäÇ_ÛÒÉ (we are all Gaza), as part of a social campaign to support the Gaza Strip.
The campaign featured several Bahraini political leaders and human rights activists, and focused on the tragic reality experienced by the Gaza Strip, while stressing the need to support the Hamas resistance and lift the siege on Gazans.
Secretary General of prominent opposition group al-Wefaq Association, Sheikh Ali Salman, wrote that people must stand with the truth, and the truth is with the people of Gaza fighting against the Zionist aggression.
Salman continued saying: "this long experience has shown that the Arab regimes are not democratic and are not able to support Gaza and Palestine."
Salman saluted the patience and steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist entity and sent "a salute to the Gazan mothers, who offered their sons in the battle to defend Gaza and break the blockade."
Bahraini tweeter Mahdi Al Rubaie told Palestinians, "We, the people of Bahrain, were with you when you stood against the occupation, and we will stand by you with the all possible capabilities till the day of liberation."
Public activist Hassan Sharqi posted a photo Bahraini kids protesting in support of Gaza. He commented on the photo saying: “We will stay with you and the Palestinian cause will remain the central one which our fathers and grandfathers had taught us, and this is what we are teaching our children today."
In a statement to Al-Manar Website, the coordinator of the Twitter campaign, Mr. Taher Al-Mousawi said that the Palestinian cause is the main one, noting that it should remain in our mind and in the conscience of the nation.
He stressed that the countries’ engagement in their local conflicts should not keep us away from the Palestinian cause.
Al-Mousawi said that the people of the nation must offer initiatives that serve the Palestinian cause, instead of waiting of the Arab regimes to do so.
He also hoped that these people will go forward in supporting this issue in order to keep Palestine in the lead of the nation’s concerns.
Meanwhile, he urged the nation to adopt a project to help to rebuild Gaza, noting that this help should be away from the political pressure.
“We should not only tweet or protest. People have a lot to do. The popular stance should be different from the official one,” al-Mousawi.
