Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Saturday that Cairo will invite the Palestinian and Zionist delegations in order to resume negotiations on a "long-term ceasefire."

During a news conference following his meeting with the Egyptian counterpart Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, Abbas said: "At present, Egypt will invite" the Palestinian and Zionist delegations "to return to negotiations to discuss a long-term ceasefire and to discuss later on issues put on the negotiating table."
