Visiting Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday conferred latest regional and international developments with Iraq's top Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Sistani, state-run IRNA news agency reported.
During his visit to Baghdad, Zarif stressed the need for speedy formation of an inclusive government in Iraq.
Zarif had also a meeting with Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Hussein al-Najafi and Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Saeed al-Tabatabaei al-Hakim.
The Iranian official is scheduled to meet with Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Ishaq al-Fayadh later in the day.
Zarif arrived in Baghdad on Sunday morning for a two-day official visit.
While in Baghdad, he held talks with several top Iraqi officials on issues of mutual interests and regional developments.
