Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei underwent a successful prostate surgery Monday morning.
The operation was done in a hospital in Tehran on Monday morning, official news agency IRNA reported.
It quoted the head of operation team Dr. Alireza Marandi as saying that the surgery was successful and was performed without use of anesthetics.
Prior to his departure to the hospital, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “It is an ordinary operation and there is no need to worry. God willing everything will go on well.”
"This does not mean that prayers are not welcome... but it is a normal operation," his eminence added.
