Lebanon's Middle East Airlines Company has categorically denied Sunday circulated news of an emergency landing in Rome of one of its planes due to a suspected bomb on board.
"The MEA flight, which was on its way to Beirut coming from Geneva, appeared to have a passenger missing on board despite completing all his boarding procedures, for which reason the flight captain decided to land in Rome as a precautionary measure. However, and after thorough inspection of the plane, no evidence of any bomb was detected," MEA statement indicated.
"The MEA plane has taken-off again a while ago, continuing its flight to Beirut," the statement concluded.
