2 NATO Occupation Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan, Death Toll Rises

Two NATO occupation soldiers were killed in two separate attacks in Afghanistan, the alliance announced on Wednesday, taking to 191 the death toll of troops to be killed in the war-torn country so far this year.

Two NATO occupation soldiers were killed in two separate attacks in Afghanistan, the alliance announced on Wednesday, taking to 191 the death toll of troops to be killed in the war-torn country so far this year.

NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said in a statement that one of its soldiers had died from wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device attack.
Another soldier was killed in a bomb blast in the north of Afghanistan, the statement added.

The Western military alliance did not reveal the identities or the nationalities of the deceased soldiers.
The latest deaths bring the number of killed NATO forces for the month of May to 29.

Last year was the deadliest for the foreign troops with their casualties standing at over 700.

As the death toll for US-led forces climbs in Afghanistan, public opinion in the United States and other Western countries has been increasingly turning against the Afghan war.

The security situation has steadily worsened across Afghanistan, with Taliban movement announced on Tuesday it had captured a provincial city east of Afghanistan, Duab in Nuristan Province.
