Lebanese Public Health Minister, Wael Abu Faour, reassured families of the abducted soldiers at Dahr al-Baidar that matters regarding their sons' dossier "are somewhat progressing."
Abu Faour also revealed that Turkey has promised the Lebanese government to offer help in the case of the captive troops.
“Salam urged the Turkish state to intervene and Turkey has promised to act. I hope these (Turkish) remarks will help resolve this case,” Abou Faour said.
Abu Faour stressed on the need to exert all possible efforts to ensure the release of all kidnapped soldiers. He called on their families who are partaking in the sit-in to maintain their positive approach in dealing with this dossier.
Abu Faour also urged media representatives "not to plunge said dossier into the political polemic going on in the country, since the kidnapped are the sons of all the Lebanese people."
Moreover, Abu Faour stressed on the right of soldiers' families to adopt any move they find suitable with regards to their case; however, he considered that cutting-off roads is a burden on the Lebanese people. Hence, he hoped that the families would pursue their right to expressing their demands without causing any state of paralysis in the country.
