A Lebanese soldier was killed and another injured in a drive-by shooting in northern Lebanon on Thursday, an army statement said.
"Gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the two soldiers in Rihaniyeh in the northern province of Akkar, killing one and injuring another," the statement read.
The army said an investigation has been launched into the attack.
On Tuesday, a Lebanese soldier was killed while dismantling a bomb in the northern city of Tripoli.
Last month, two army soldiers were killed by gunfire in Tripoli. Two more troops were killed following a bomb explosion in the eastern town of Arsal.
