The Supreme Leader made the remark in a meeting with a group of commanders and officials of the Iranian Navy here on Sunday.

He said the spirit of resistance and struggle the Iranian military forces enjoy is a source of pride and credit for them.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Navy should increase and update its capabilities to be able to fulfill its great and important role of safeguarding national security and general defense.

Referring to the long water borders of the country and the immense investments made by the enemies in the region, the Supreme Leader urged the armed forces to keep improving their defense vigilance regardless of all political considerations.

He reiterated that the Army should make strategic planning by identifying the strong and weak points of the enemies.

The Ayatollah further noted that the peacetime was a chance for armed forces to make progress in various fields.
