Russian President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov is visiting Damascus on Wednesday to hold talks on ways to resolve the crisis in Syria, SANA reported.
On November 27, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem announced in a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in the Russian city, Sochi, that the Russian President stressed his country’s determination to cooperate with Syria and President Bashar al-Assad to triumph over terrorism.
Al-Moallem’s statements were based on the outcomes of an earlier meeting he held with President Vladimir Putin.
Cooperation with Syria, which Putin affirmed, also aims at deepening the standing strategic partnership between the two countries, as al-Moallem noted.
