Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam, currently on a visit to the French capital of Paris, met on Friday with French President François Hollande, in the company of National Defense Minister Samir Mokbel and Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Gebran Bassil.
In the wake of the meeting, Salam confirmed that the technical discussions over the $3 billion Saudi grant have been finalized, and that the Lebanese Armed Forces would be handed the lengthily awaited weapons soon.
On another level, the Prime Minister said that he had touched sincere French understanding of the situation in Lebanon.
"We have discussed an array of matters, most importantly the Syrian refugees file and Lebanon's pressing need for support."
Salam also said that France was closely following up on Lebanon's presidential file.
"Despite the fact that it's an internal affair, France is endeavoring to help Lebanon reach unanimous agreement over a President to put an end to presidential void," Salam added.
