A massive scholarly political meeting was held in Beirut in solidarity with the Secretary General of al-Wefaq Islamic Bahraini Association Sheikh Ali Salman.

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem called on the Bahraini regime to release Sheikh Salman immediately, asserting that the Bahrainis have always supported the Palestinian cause and paid prices for their national stances.

Sheikh Hassan Sultan, the representative of the Bahraini opposition, stressed that the Bahraini regime would not have been able to arrest Sheikh Salman if it had not received a direct support from Britain.

Several other political figures delivered speeches that supported Sheikh Salman and all the Bahrainis who are facing the regime's oppression and dictatorship.
