A car bomb in front of a police academy in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa killed 20 people at least on Wednesday, security and hospital officials said.

The attack took place as several people gathered in front of the building for a police recruitment event, according to security sources.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), the network's affiliate in Yemen, has taken credit for previous such attacks on security forces.
