“Around 300 militants targeted the civilians in Mamoond. At least five of them, including two women, were killed, and three women were wounded”, AFP quoted local government official Fazle Akbar saying.
Another Pakistani Government Official Mohammad Ilyas Khan pointed out to AFP that “the fighting is still going on. Tribesmen from a local militia have joined paramilitary forces and army artillery is pounding shells".
Mamoond village is located in the Bajaur district that borders the Afghan province Kunar.
