Syrian security forces seized a large amount of detonators and ammunition loaded in a truck on Homs-Aleppo international highway.
State-run news agency SANA quoted a source in Homs province as saying Wednesday that 20,000 detonators and a number of boxes containing various types of ammunition, in addition to sums of money were found inside the truck, noting that the operation was carried out with the help of the locals.
The source added that two persons on board the truck were arrested, who admitted that the truck was heading to the northern countryside of Aleppo.
On January 21st , authorities seized 11 blasting cap reels, 65 detonator boxes and 1kg of hashish hidden inside a vehicle that was heading to Aleppo and arrested 4 persons.
Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the western media reports accuse countries, mainly the USA, Turkey and Saudi Arabia of orchestrating the civil conflict in the country and providing terrorist groups with money, weapons and trained mercenaries.
