Israel Issues Travel Warning Fearing Hezbollah Leaders’ Martyrdom Revenge

Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah vowed to react to the leaders’ killings in the approriate time

Israel is still afraid of Hezbollah’s reprisal for the assassination of martyr leader Haj Imad Mughniyeh after three years of his martyrdom.

The Israeli government on Friday warned against travel to Egypt and eight other countries for fear of Hezbollah’s reaction on the anniversary of the assassination of two top Hezbollah leaders Haj Imad and Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi in February. Hezbollah's Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah vowed to react to the leaders' killings in the approriate time.

The communiqué, issued by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, said Israeli travelers should avoid such travel "during the coming week"."There is an increased threat of attacks against Israelis and Jewish targets overseas, with an emphasis on Egypt, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, the Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania and Venezuela," it said, cautioning against visiting places where there is a large number of Israelis.

Top Hezbollah commander Haj Imad was martyred in a car bombing on February 12, 2008, while Sayyed Abbas, Hezbollah’s former secretary general, was martyred by Israeli missile on February 16, 1992.
