Iranian Foreign Ministry on Sunday strongly rejected a recent claim made by the Wall Street Journal that Iranian Supreme Leader sent a letter to the US president.
The American daily claimed on February 13 that the Iranian Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has in recent weeks responded to overtures from President Barack Obama by sending him a new letter.
“The claim made by Wall Street Journal is an unprofessional media game,” the Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said on Sunday.
President Obama’s correspondence has a record from the past and “in some cases Iran responded to his letters,” said the spokeswoman.
However, she stressed, “There is no new letter” from Iran side.
