Aoun's fresh stance came Tuesday in the context of the regular weekly meeting for the bloc of Reform and Change in Rabieh.

He thereby called upon the government to "correct the flaws" in this regard.

He said the government's decisions are "illegal and unconstitutional," explaining that article 25 of law says that the appointment of officers comes in accordance with a decree issued by the minister of defense.

"In the military authority there is no extension for the term of officers and not any authority is allowed to strike the military hierarchy and impose the heresy of term extension."
