US Spokesperson Victoria Nuland pointed out that Washington is mediating Turkey-Israel relations that are “improving”.
Washington says Turkey-Israel relations are improving due to U.S. mediation and Turkey’s withdrawal from sending a humanitarian aid flotilla to the besieged Gaza strip.
According to Zionist website Ynetnews, State Department Spokesperson Vicotoria Nuland stated that the United States sees improvement in the relations between turkey and the Israeli entity, and has been making strong efforts to approximate the two points of view.
It reported that “US President Barack Obama reportedly held phone conversations with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an attempt to soften his stance.”
The US Spokesperson further claimed that “thawing relationship was partly due to Israel increasing shipment of humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip via safe and legitimate ways.”
Nuland warned against sending an aid flotilla to the besieged Gaza Strip and regarded it as an irresponsible and dangerous step.
“Groups that seek to break Israel's maritime blockade of Gaza are taking irresponsible and provocative actions that risk the safety of their passengers,” she said.
