Iran, US Resume Nuclear Talks E3 FMs to Join

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry resumed the 8th round of nuclear talks on Friday.

Zarif said on Friday that nuclear negotiations with US Secretary of State John Kerry were positive and at a crucial time period.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi, Zarif’s deputies Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman are expected to attend the meeting.

Iranian senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Friday that next round of nuclear negotiations with 5+1 Group of world powers will kick off on Wednesday, March 25.

French and German foreign ministers are expected to join the meeting on Friday and British foreign secretary is to join this round of nuclear talks on Saturday morning.

Iran and the US wrapped up the fifth day of the ongoing nuclear talks in the Swiss city on Thursday. Following his talks with Kerry, the Iranian foreign minister said the negotiations over Tehran's nuclear energy program have reached an extremely complicated point.

The talks are part of broader negotiations between Tehran and the P5+1 group of countries.

The latest round of the negotiations over the Iranian nuclear program kicked off in the Swiss city on Sunday with Salehi and Moniz holding high-level technical talks.
