Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif denounced the Saudi aerial attack on Yemen, calling for an immediate halt of the military operations and start of a dialogue to solve the crisis.
Speaking to Al-Alam TV channel, Zarid said that "such military operations will only increase tensions in the region and will have no benefit for any participant country."
However, the Iranian diplomat stated that Iranian delegation to Lausanne will not tackle the developments in Yemen because talks with P5+1 group are limited to the nuclear file, warning all regional and western states against taking part in a game "that will lead to cooperation with al-Qaeda and ISIL (the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant)."
"This danger threats the Yemeni people and could open room for takfiri and terrorist groups to act," he said.
For its part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman , Marzieh Afkham, urged the Saudi Arabia on Thursday to halt of all military actions against people of Yemen, stating that the Saudi attacks present a serious step that contradicts with international laws.
"Attacks on Yemen would complicate the situation," Afkham said.
A coalition of 10 countries, led by the Saudi Arabia, launched late Wednesday a wide military offensive on Yemen, killing 20 civilians, including children.
Al Arabiya News Channel reported on Thursday that Saudi Arabia has deployed "100 fighter jets, 150,000 soldiers and other navy units" for the military campaign against Yemen.
