Israeli police shot dead a Palestinian youth at an east Al-Quds (Jerusalem) checkpoint earlier on Saturday.
The 17-year-old youth, Ali Mohammad Abu Ghannam, from the Al-Tur neighborhood, was shot dead with cold blood near the Al-Zaim checkpoint and left to the ground for more than one hour.
The Zionist police alleged that the martyr was aiming at a martyrdom operation at the checkpoint to justify their crime. “The assailant managed to get past one checkpoint but was brought down at a second near Al-Zaim without any police casualties,” the Zionist spokeswoman claimed. The even distributed a photograph of a knife and cleaver they claimed the ‘slain suspect’ was carrying. Israeli police commander Moshe Edri said the "determined actions" of security forces at the two checkpoints "saved lives."
