Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Iran has summoned British charge d’affairs to Tehran to hear his explanations on UK’s failure to extend visas for family members of former Iranian ambassador Nosratollah Tajik.
Speaking to reporters during his weekly press briefing on Tuesday, he noted that the UK has refused to extend visa for Tajik's family members to stay in the UK.
Stressing the need for the speedy release of Tajik, he said the act of the British government would only lead to further deterioration of his physical and spiritual conditions.
Mehmanparast said the Iranian Foreign Ministry has urged the British envoy to offer proper explanation and solution to the problem.
