Mashnouq: Rebellion of Roumieh Prisoners Aims at Leading Terrorist Attacks

The Lebanese Interior Minister Nuhad al-Mashnouq revealed that the rebellion that was carried out by "Fateh al-Islam" prisoners at Roumieh jail aims at regaining the role of leading the terrorist attacks in Lebanon, Syrian & Iraq

MashnouqThe Lebanese Interior Minister Nuhad al-Mashnouq revealed that the rebellion that was carried out by the militant "Fateh al-Islam" prisoners at Roumieh jail aims at regaining the role of leading the terrorist attacks in Lebanon, Syrian and Iraq.

During a press conference on Thursday, al-Mashnouq said his government "seeks to satisfy all prisoners' demands and won't allow for any second rebellion in Roumieh jail."

The minister explained that the government took a decision to set up another jail to apprehend the big number of prisoners, as it allocated USD 55 million that will be paid in this regard between 2015 and 2016.

Turning to the security plan, he said that the mission of the plan "is just restricted to the execution of judicial warrants," indicating, "We will arrest sooner or later all heads of gangs in any Lebanese region."
