Syrian army, backed by popular forces, established control over Maydaa town and the surrounding farms in the Eastern Ghouta, killing many terrorists and injuring others.
The armed units closed the terrorists’ last crossing from Douma towards al-Dumair areas in Damascus Countryside Province, a military source told SANA Sunday.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights chief Rami Abdel Rahman said "the regime has cut off the last main road for rebels leading out of Eastern Ghouta."
The Syrian army had also killed scores of terrorists affiliated with Al-Nusra Front and other terrorist organizations in many areas across the country.
Late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, the army carried out special operations against ISIL terrorists in the villages of Um Sahrij, Abu Hawadid, Salam Gharbi, Rajm al-Qasir and the area surrounding al-Msheirfeh al-Janoubiyeh, east of Homs city.
A military source told SANA that the hideouts were directly hit, leaving scores of ISIL terrorists killed and a number of their vehicles destroyed with all the ammunition onboard.
ISIL acknowledged on its social media pages that a number of its members were killed and seven of its vehicles were destroyed in the eastern countryside of Homs.
In al-Houleh area, an army unit targeted hideouts for Al-Nusra front containing large amounts of weapons and ammunition in Kfar Laha village. The hideouts were destroyed with terrorists inside.
Units of the army and armed forces killed a number of al-Nusra terrorists in al-Hrak, Kafer Shams and al-Ghariyeh al-Sharkiyeh in the countryside of the southern province of Daraa.
In Idleb, the forces destroyed a convoy of vehicles for the terrorist organizations in the vicinity of Jisr al- Shughour and al-Janoudieh in the countryside of Idleb province, killing scores of terrorists including leaders of terrorist organizations.
