The General Security Chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim has dismissed recent reports over the path of negotiations aimed at releasing 25 Lebanese servicemen held hostage by the Syria-based Takfiri militants.
“Reports over the negotiations are just baseless analysis that negatively affects the path of the talks,” a statement by Ibrahim’s office said on Friday.
In this context, the statement stressed that media outlets should resort to the concerned sides before circulating news over this issues.
ISIL and Nusra Front Takfiri groups have been holding 25 Lebanese soldiers and policemen hostage on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal since last August.
