The martyrdom of a group of worshippers at Qatif mosque was very painful, said Ayatollah Sistani in the statement.
Ayatollah Sistani expressed condolences to the bereaved families and said that the tragedy injured sentiments of the world Muslims.
A suicide-bomber exploded his belt on Friday among Friday prayers at Qatif mosque claiming lives of 21 worshippers and injuring some 121 others.
