Vice President of the Higher Shia Islamic Council Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan called on Sunday “for appointing the right people in the right places, and choosing honest and competent people to assume public office,” the National News Agency reported.
“Politicians should stand in the face of foreign intervention in Lebanon. They should leave the past behind and be responsible while handling controversial issues,” he added.
Qabalan said that the new government will be responsible for planning a prosperous future for Lebanon where Lebanese people enjoy stability and “regain confidence in their State and institutions.”
