Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham on Wednesday strongly rejected the Manama claims about the operation of an Iran-linked terrorist group in Bahrain.
Afkham, in her weekly press conference, underlined that Tehran has no links with any terrorist groups, including those in Bahrain.
She also stressed that security approach will fail to put an end to the tension in the Persian Gulf island state, and said peaceful solutions that could pave the way for the partnership of all sides in the country's political process are the key to the settlement of the conflict in Bahrain.
On Sunday, Bahrain's Interior Ministry claimed that it had smashed a major terrorist cell with links to outlawed groups in Iran.
In February, a senior member of the Iranian parliament said that Bahrain is arming terrorist groups in Southeastern Iran.
Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi pointed to the recent capture of several terrorists and discovery of a cache of arms and ammunition in the Southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, and said Bahrain was arming the terrorists.
