Two suicide car bombings that targeted police, killed 18 people and wounded at least 32 in Iraq on Wednesday, according to Associated Press citing local officials.
Three police officers died in the first attack, that occurred at a checkpoint in Baghdad's northern district of Shulla.
It was followed by another suicide car bomber attack at a police base in the city of Garma in Anbar province that claimed the lives of nine police officers.
Although no group claimed responsibility for the attacks, police suspect terrorists of the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) tafiri group were behind the killings.
