Iran's Foreign Ministry Deputies Abbas Araqchi and Mjid Takht-e Ravanchi held on Wednesday afternoon the first session of 8th round of nuclear talks with Helga Schmid, a deputy for EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, in Vienna.
Delegations from both sides are trying to finalize the text of a comprehensive nuclear deal within the next two weeks.
Iranian officials will stay in Vienna till the end of June deadline. It is expected that Iran and P5+1 (Russia, China, France, Britain, and the US, plus Germany) ministers also join the talks in the upcoming days.
Iranian deputy ministers held five days of talks at the 7th rounds of nuclear talks. They went back to Iran on Monday and departed Tehran for Vienna on Wednesday to start another round of negotiations.
Meanwhile, the team of experts led by Hamid Baeedinejad from Iran and Stephan Clement from the other side discussed technical aspects of the deal including the annexes of comprehensive nuclear agreement.
Araqchi has recently said that the West's excessive demand is a major obstacle to the progress of nuclear talks between Tehran and the P5+1 group of countries.
