Iranian President Sheikh Hasan Rouhani told the Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani that all countries in the region are suffering from terrorism.
In a phone call with the Qatari Emir on Thursday, Rouhani stressed that the terrorist groups are a serious obstacle to development of relations among regional states.
“All regional countries are suffering from the issue of terrorism because the terrorist acts are in no way beneficial to states of the region and they are a big hurdle in the way of regional development and strengthening of relations among countries,” President Rouhani said, according to IRNA news agency.
The Iranian president, meanwhile, felicitated Sheikh Tamim on the Ramadan month, noting that this holy month is a chance to strengthen the relations of brotherliness and friendship between Muslim countries.
Rouhani also voiced concerns over the fighting taking place across the Muslim countries, noting that this bloodshed should be stopped, stressing that humanitarian aids should be delivered to the war-hit countries, especially Yemen.
The Qatari emir, for his part, felicitated Rouhani on the holy month and asked him to convey his felicitations to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
“There might be differences of opinion in some issues, but the two countries are friends, brothers and neighbors,” Sheikh Tamim added, according to IRNA.
