Egyptian authorities will open Rafah crossing with the Gaza Strip on Tuesday for three days, a Palestinian official said.

"Egyptian authorities have informed the Palestinian side that the Rafah crossing will be opened in both directions for three days starting on Tuesday until Thursday," Palestinian Authority (PA) border chief Nazmi Mehanna told media outlets.

"Traveling will be for students, patients and people who have residence permits abroad and foreign passports," he added.

Egypt opened the Rafah crossing on June 13 for only one week.
