The president of the Shomron regional council, which groups together the Jewish settlements in the region, called on the government "o authorize the army to act without pity against these savages who take civilians for targets."

Earlier on Monday, a female Zionist military police officer sustained moderate-to-serious wounds after being stabbed in the neck by a female resident of Bethlehem at the south Jerusalem security checkpoint Rachel’s Crossing.
