Syrian army and Hezbollah resistance fighters entered Zabadani on Sunday, the last stronghold of the Takfiri militants on the border area with Lebanon.
Hezbollah Military Media reported the advance, noting that the Syrian army and Hezbollah fighters took control of the Al-Jamaiyat neighborhood in western Zabadani and Al-Sultana neighborhood in the east of the city.
The Syrian TV confirmed the event, saying that “operations are continuing with dozens of terrorists killed and wounded."
Meanwhile, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is based in London, also reported the gains.
Earlier on Saturday, Syrian army and Hezbollah resistance fighters launched a wide-scale offensive on several fronts in Zabadani, where they are securing significant gains.
Zabadani occupies a strategic position as it is considered one of the major supply routes of Takfiri militants from Lebanon to Qalamoun.
