Syrian Air Force Pounds ISIL Leaders’ Meeting in Raqqa

Military sources in the Northeastern parts of the country confirmed that a number of ISIL leaders were killed and wounded in a Syrian air force raid on the venue of their meeting in Raqqa.

The sources said that an ISIL leader of Saudi nationality with three of his guards were among the killed on Saturday night air operation.

In a similar development, the army, backed by its air force, launched a large- scale operations against ISIL terrorists and other takfiri organizations across the country, where a number of their hideouts were destroyed and many of their members were killed.

In Idleb, army units repelled terrorists, most of them from al-Nusra Front group - al-Qaeda branch in Syria, who tried to infiltrate and attack military posts in al-Awar and Himka hills to the southeast of Jisr al-Shughour city in the countryside of the northern Idleb province, a military source said.

The source told SANA news agency that a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured, while their arms and ammunition were destroyed in the operations.

In the same context, an army unit clashed with terrorists from the so-called “Jaish al-Fatih” who attacked Khattab hill in the same area in Jisr al-Shughour.

At least 63 terrorists were killed in the clashes, in addition to destroying a number of their machinegun-equipped vehicles and various types of arms and ammunition, according to the source.

Meanwhile, field sources told SANA that a number of terrorists were killed and one of their vehicles was destroyed in Khan Sheikhoun city, in addition to destroying two vehicles loaded with arms and ammunition in the surroundings of Shahshabho Mountain in the countryside of Idleb province.

Army units also killed numbers of al-Nusra terrorists and destroyed several of their vehicles in Abu al-Duhour, al-Baraghiti, Khsheir, al-Bsheiriyeh, Bzit, Sallet al-Zuhour, al-Maqla’ and Jannet al-Qura.

In the neighboring Aleppo province, army units destroyed positions of al-Nusra Front and other terrorist organizations in the neighborhoods of al-Khalediyeh, al-Rashidin, al-Aaziziyeh, al-Sheikh Saeed, al-Layramoun, al-Ansari, al-Maysar, al-Hilwaniyeh, Bani Zaid and al-Kastello in the city.

The operations in those areas left a number of terrorists killed and their vehicles and equipment destroyed.

In the western countryside of Aleppo province, dozens of terrorists were killed and a number of their vehicles were destroyed in operations that targeted their dens and supply routes in al-Mansoura village and in Daret Azza and Kafr Dael towns.

Other positions and supply routes of al-Nusra terrorists were targeted in Hardatnin, Hreitan, al-Bab, al-Shweihna, Anadan, Aazaz city, Kafr Hamra village and al-Sheikh Suleiman in the northern countryside of Aleppo province. Several of the terrorists’ vehicles were destroyed.

An army unit killed a number of terrorists and destroyed their arms and ammunition in Abtin and Khan al-Asal on the southwestern outskirts of Aleppo City.

In the eastern countryside of the province, army units targeted dens and positions of ISIL terrorists in the surroundings of the Air Force Academy, killing scores of them and destroying their arms and ammunition.

In southern Syria, an army unit destroyed two vehicles for terrorist organizations with arms and ammunition on board during a special operation against their hideouts to the south the housing compound of police personnel in al-Abbassiyeen area in Daraa al-Balad neighborhood in the  city of Daraa.

A number of terrorists were killed, others were injured and a mortar launcher was destroyed as the army targeted their movements to the east of al-Akhdar Mosque in Ataman town, 4 km to the north of Daraa city.

In the neighboring Quneitra province, a number of terrorists from al-Nusra Front and other terrorist organizations were killed and injured and their arms and ammunition were destroyed during the army operations in Tranja village in the northern countryside.

The army artillery targeted terrorists’ dens in villages of Jabata al-Khashab and al-Rawadi, inflicting heavy losses upon them in personnel and equipment.
In the southwestern countryside of Damascus, an army unit inflicted heavy losses upon the terrorist organization in personnel and equipment in special operations on their hideouts in al-Huseiniya farms, near Khan al-Shih farms.

In Deir Ezzor, the army air force destroyed three ammunition depots for ISIL terrorist organization in eastern Syria, leaving a number of its members killed and injured.

In Raqqa, the army air force destroyed Saturday night a hideout of ISIL, while a number of their self-claimed leaders were meeting inside it, killing and injuring all terrorists inside the hideout, the source added.
Meanwhile, terrorist organizations admitted on their social media website the killing of what they called an ISIL leader of Saudi nationality with three of his guards.

Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the western media reports accuse countries, mainly the USA, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar of orchestrating the civil conflict in the country and providing terrorist groups with money, weapons and trained mercenaries.

On May 2011, Syrian army launched a wide-scale operation against armed groups and gunmen operating in the country, who started to escape the army blows and infiltrate illegally to Lebanon.
