President Assad congratulated Imam Khamenei and President Rouhani on the nuclear agreement signed between Tehran and the world powers on Tuesday in Vienna.
Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, congratulated the supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei and President Hasan Rouhani on the nuclear agreement signed between Tehran and the world powers on Tuesday in Vienna.
In two cables sent to Imam Khamenei and Rouhani, President Assad described the deal as a “turning point” in the history of Iran, region and the world.
Assad also said that the deal is an admission by the world that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful.
Meanwhile the Syrian leader praised the Iranian people’s steadfastness against the blockade and the oppressive sanctions, SANA news agency reported.
"We are confident that the Islamic Republic of Iran will support, with greater drive, just causes of nations and work for peace and stability in the region and the world,” Assad said in the cables sent shortly following the deal was announced.
