Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) in Sweden introduced Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his US counterpart John Kerry as candidates for the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize over Iran's nuclear accord.
Tariq Rauf, the director of the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Program at SIPRI made the remarks following the conclusion of nuclear talks between the Islamic Republic and six world powers on Tuesday.
He said the nuclear accord testifies grant of the 2016 Noble Peace Prize to John Kerry and Mohammad-Javad Zarif.
He added that Iran nuclear accord will pave the way for getting confident over peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program and lift of sanctions.
Iran and the P5+1 group of countries concluded their talks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which will put limits on Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for the removal of sanctions against the country.
Rauf was formerly the head of Verification and Security Policy at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 2002 to 2011.
